Frequently Asked Questions

The Mountaineer Train Tour departs from and ends at Addington Train Station in Christchurch. 

Due to the heritage nature of the carriages, we unfortunately do not have the ability to accommodate fixed wheelchairs or electic wheelchairs or electric scooters, however collapsible zimmer frames and walkers (and they must be fully collapsible) can be accommodated on board. Passengers using collapsible zimmer frames, or walkers, should have the ability to board the train, unaided.



Only fully collapsible, smaller sized baby strollers, or walkers, can be transported on board the train.

Yes, most of the carriages have toilets.

Snack boxes will be available for pre-purchase. Light snacks and refreshments will also be available onboard for purchase. You are  welcome to bring your own food onboard.
